Interview: While the three main porn sites are inaccessible in France to protest against the obligation to verify the age of Internet users and the use of virtual private networks (VPN) explodes, Pierre Beyssac, spokesperson for the Pirate Party, returns to "Le Nouvel Obs" on the situation.
"Freedom has no off button" now appears on the homepage of the pornographic sites Youporn, Pornhub and Redtube, whose content has been inaccessible in France since Wednesday in protest against the requirement to verify users' age.
The group is protesting a 2024 French law requiring publishers of porn sites to implement an identification system preventing minors from accessing them, under penalty of sanctions from the digital and audiovisual regulator, Arcom, which could go as far as blocking them.
